Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is the Japanese automaker’s in-house tuning shop and they’re in charge of giving Toyota and Lexus vehicles a sportier road presence. Their latest offerings are performance upgrades for the new Lexus LC.
Already impressive, the 2018 LC 500 and LC 500h will be offered with several optional upgrades from TRD including an aero kit. Said kit was designed to improve the LC’s aerodynamic balance and includes a front lip, side skirts, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. Each component is sold separately and prices can range from ¥151,200 for the front spoiler to ¥738,720 for the 21-inch forged aluminum wheels.
If you convert that to USD at current exchange rates, which autoevolution
has done, the front spoiler will cost around $1,345 and $6,670 for the wheels.
These pieces will be offered in three paint colors: a white option and two shades of black. Not only do they look nice, but the aero kit will also reduce turbulence and increase vehicle stability at high speeds. The alloys will come with locking lug nuts and help reduce unsprung weight at the corners.
For now, these mods are only available in the Japanese Domestic Market so those of you outside of that country will have to somehow purchase the kit from Japan and have the package shipped overseas.
