Could Lexus Make a LC500 Shooting Brake?

The Lexus LC500 is a beautiful vehicle that isn't bad to drive either. People have asked Lexus and the car-gods for a number of different body styles to make the LC500 tailored to their specific needs and desires. A convertible body style is certainly being considered, and a four-door sedan style has been discussed by fans too.

What about a shooting brake body style though?

The sexy wagon body style has been rendered, as you can see above. In addition to the change in body style, this rendered LC500 shooting brake model wears a matte black cargo box, revised pillars, sills and body panels, and fancy rims and tires too. You'll notice that it has been lowered quite close to the ground ground too.

Whether you like all the rest of the changes to the LC500 that can be seen in this render or not, the shooting brake body style matches the LC500 nicely and would sell from a design standpoint. It would be even more practical than a coupe, and other auto companies have been creating their own shooting brake vehicles too. Mercedes-Benz is making a SB version of one of their four-door coupes, and Porsche is getting ready to build a shooting brake version of the Panamera.

Would you be interested in a Lexus LC500 Shooting Brake? Do you think that it could become a reality?

No way, but what they could use is a Gran Coupe, much like what BMW does, they have the 6 series coupe which competes directly with the LC, an LC gran coupe will be killer. I rather have that than a GS-F.

Why "no way" on the shooting brake?

Lexus won't come out with a lowered shooting brake body style as an option but you will definitely see some aftermarket company go for it. Not the cargo box portion but the lowering of the car and maybe some revised body panels. It's just not worth it for LExus to do it.

Perhaps not the lowered body, but a shooting brake I think is within the realm of possibility. Maybe not for North America, but it could happen for Europe. Porsche is making a shooting brake Panamera.

The lack of interest from other car makers to go this route has me thinking that, not often has it worked well and the only example of a success is the Ferrari FF. It's just not in the nature of Lexus or any Japanese car maker to do this and have it look good, and be received well by the audience.

It's just a dream and will remain that way.

But I can see a 4 door LC Coupe come to market, just like how BMW has a 6-Series Coupe and 6-Series Gran Coupe (4-door)

It's just sad since the render makes it look really good.

You can make anything look good in a rendering but on the plus side they kept it as original looking as possible just using building on the original body lines.

Would be cool if Lexus does it which ends up being the much more affordable Ferrari FF.

I think that'll be the key thing. It'll still be a great vehicle that's in a more accessed price range.

A 4 door version would be nice but I don't think it'll flow too well
