Following a strong year of sales in 2018, Lexus announced last week that they have hit a new milestone, reaching 10 million cars sold. Almost 700,000 sold worldwide last year and this massive growth proves their amazing products continue to be well received by consumers. Time will tell if they can maintain this progress as they turn to electrification.

Lexus cars are pretty darn remarkable. Take the legend of Toyota to the next level.

The iconic Lexus front end works well enough in our LCs. But it has always been significant to me that people are so taken by Lexus they will buy the hideously ugly cars they make. Especially their SUVs.

A few years back we got a new Land Cruiser. Nice vehicle, maybe too nice. Hard to justify using that awesome drivetrain off road.

We of course looked at the Lexus version, but sooo ugly. Says a lot about the quality underneath that people buy them anyway.

I concur that Lexus makes some great machines but some have been beaten with an ugly stick. I was recently given what I believe was an RX 350 as a loaner during a service. The vehicle drove impeccably but in my humble opinion looked a bit odd, especially the gaping grille. The grille works so well on the LC but so bad on some of the other product.

Their new grille design is questionable for sure on certain models and the rear end styling is really hit or miss. But at the end of the day everyone is buying one of these for their proven reliability and resale value, which is still among the best in the industry.

If rumors of the upcoming LC F end up becoming true, it will be dam near impossible to find a better sports car for the money. Makes you wonder how they could possibly improve upon something that's already so incredible.

What are they expected to be priced at?

Rumors are it will arrive around 2022 and start somewhere in the realm of $200k. The naturally aspirated V8 will probably be replaced by a twin-turbocharged 4.0l V8 making north of 600hp. Everything is speculation at this point though.

I have a hard time looking at a $200k Lexus that's not an LFA and seriously considering it.
Challenging that might be rumors of the LC-F being part of big changes to come to Lexus with performance unlike any other models.
For starters its that 4.0L TT engine but that like everything else is caught up in rumors.

As iconic as a 600hp LC would be, I think at $200k it will suffer from the same problem the NSX faces. There are just so many other open doors in that bracket, that it would be hard not to explore your options.

Problem is, no one knows what to expect from the LC-F. Its the first of new F products to come. The new LC and LS were just a warm up and the fact we haven't seen an LC F-Sport might be a hint towards that. Maybe we'll see a redefined F-Sport before the full F model?
