Real World MPG Numbers

The LC 500 gets an EPA rating of 16-mpg city and 25-mpg highway but how does that compare to real world mileage?

Most LC owners I know said the EPA numbers live up to real world testing after 5-10k miles of driving between all of them. Numbers reported to fuelly (from 29k miles of driving -- see graph included) agree as well. Although most of us aren't concerned about mileage, already knowing what we were getting into before putting money down, I think it would still be useful to see where everyone averages around.

If rumors of a Lexus 4.0TT engine are true and set to succeed what's under all F products and our LC, that might mean 20MPG city at minimum.

Indeed not bad for a powerful and torquie V8. Apparently some LC500h owners are seeing averages around 28 mpg.

A blog I follow also got similar numbers too but closer to 29

Great numbers.
Mind stating what's your city/highway driving mix? ex. 20% city/80% highway?
Any other details that influenced your results are also welcome and should help others here.

C&D's report on the LC's real world mileage from a review:

"The LC500 tips the scales more like a three-row SUV than a sports car and is hundreds of pounds heavier than its main competition—which means its EPA estimates are not that impressive. Despite the LC500h weighing even more than its sibling, being a hybrid earns it much more favorable figures, particularly in the city where its electric assistance comes into play. With the LC500 well exceeding its highway estimate in our testing (29 mpg observed) and the LC500h falling well short of its figure at 30 mpg (as hybrids usually do on the interstate), the fuel-economy difference between the two in cross-country travel was largely a wash."

How are all of you getting these numbers?

I'm 98% city, with 50% driving in ECO and 50% in Sport+ paddle shifting - I'm getting 13.8 MPG!!!

Anomalies do happen from time to time and I suggest you look into what RC-F owners are reporting.

They do after all have the same engine we do.

Around 70/30% highway to city. I use manual mode exclusively in the city and auto/custom mode on highway (which is a combination of sport suspension/steering settings and eco drivetrain) I fill-up with 93 octane ethanol free fuel.
