2018 Lexus LC Features

If there's one word to sum up the LC's performance, its refined, as with most Lexus products. Although the 2UR V8 has been in circulation since the IS-F's inception, as you will find throughout the various points outlined here, many other areas were given great attention to complement each other. Starting from the core with its all-new platform to the exterior with functional aero, it's all working in harmony.

Lexus designers and engineers worked in lock-step throughout development to ensure that every component works together to take full advantage of LC’s inspired performance capabilities. From the all-new rear wheel drive platform to the available 471 HP gas engine and 10-speed automatic transmission - a world’s first in a luxury vehicle - to the wind-cheating chassis and low profile tires, everything serves to ensure that every drive is nothing short of amazing.

LC's dynamic performance starts with its all-new premium rear wheel drive platform. The ultra-low centre of gravity and near perfect front-to-rear weight distribution set the stage for a significantly sharper, yet exceptionally refined driving experience.

LC's chassis is a fusion of lightweight yet high-strength materials – including extensive use of super high tensile steel and carbon fibre with the strength of steel. The result is the stiffest unibody Lexus has ever produced. And a vehicle that responds swiftly and surely to your every command and every twist in the road.
Wheel arch vents enhance aerodynamics and cooling performance - and include aerofins upfront, inspired by F1 technology.
The available active rear spoiler enhances airflow management during high-speed performance.
Double ball joints on the upper and lower control arms allow for control of the smallest movements from both driver inputs and road conditions.
Striking forged-aluminum wheels are wrapped by run-flat tires developed specifically for the LC. Lateral stiffness has been increased to enhance response, while vertical stiffness is decreased to elevate ride comfort.
LC500 Powertrain
  • POWER: 471 HP
  • ENGINE: 5.0 L V8
  • 0-100 KM/H: 4.5 SECONDS

LC 500’s 10-speed automatic - the first ever in a luxury automobile - boasts shift times rivalling those of a dual-clutch transmission. In combination with a new electric control system LC anticipates your inputs and elevates your connection to the road.

LC500h Powertrain
  • POWER: 354 NET HP**
  • 0-100 KM/H: 4.7 SECONDS
**Net HP

LC 500h features ‘M’ Mode that allows you to initiate direct gear shifts for the sharpest and most responsive drive yet from a Lexus hybrid.

Overall design has been no stranger since if you're reading this, odds are you know how close the production model LC reflects its LF-LC concept. Lexus hasn't gone into detail on design yet but with how complex the LC's design is, insight should be provided closer its release later this year.

With a long 2,870 mm wheelbase, compact 920 mm front and 970 mm rear overhangs and a notably low hood, LC’s athletic profile is set off by a sweeping roofline, sensual curves, and wind-cutting silhouette.

Muscular wheel arches emphasize LC’s imposing stance. Large 20” or 21” wheels are pushed to the corners to reduce overhang and increase control.

LC’s unique lighting signature makes an impression coming and going, including multi-layered LED rear tail lamps that light sequentially to create a unique 3-dimensional L motif.

LC’s cabin is designed for driving pleasure and luxurious comfort. The cockpit is an invitation to high-spirited driving. Passengers relax in an environment that combines elegance and sophistication - including hand-stitched leather or Alcantara upholstery. Just one of many reflections of the Takumi craftsmanship for which Lexus is globally renowned.

Available sport seats feature an integrated foam construction that literally conforms to your physique for exceptional holding performance and comfort. Specially engineered side bolsters provide the perfect amount of bracing during high-G maneuvers.

Switches and controls are at your fingertips, while Information displays are arranged to reduce eye movement and keep your focus on the road ahead.

LC owners will be in for a treat as they become the first to try Lexus Enform, the brands latest in connective technology. Currently journalists are testing the LC in Hawaii, very soon we'll get their take on Enform. Also, like any great GT coupe in this segment, you will be pleased to know Mark Levison has been tasked to provide a you a finely tuned 13-speaker system.

Amongst its wealth of technological advances, LC introduces the first application of Lexus Enform, a multi-media package that combines connectivity, infotainment, convenience and next-level peace-of-mind in one simple to use system.

Comfort on a cold morning, and command at your fingertips. LC’s heated steering wheel features controls voice recognition, audio, multi-media information display, and magnesium alloy paddle shifter.

Sync your smartphone and access your favorite mobile apps via the 10.3" console display. Listen to millions of songs and hundreds of human-powered music stations through Slacker Radio and be up to date with the latest news updates from NPR One.

Mark Levinson sound engineers worked in collaboration with LC’s designers to enhance interior sound performance. The result is an exceptional audio experience courtesy of a perfectly tuned sound system and 13 speakers. Includes intelligent navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio.

In the event of the unexpected, Enform's premium suite of connected services includes Safety Connect. Features include Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Locator, Emergency and Enhanced Roadside Assistance, both of which are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at the push of a button. I've only ever seen an active front splitter in action and never an active rear spoiler, this would be nice to see in upcoming review. A close up look when it's activated and if it makes a difference.

I've only seen the active rear spoiler up and down in videos. Just not in motion. Either up. Or down. No motion lol. I've never seen the active front splitter though.

Pretty sure there is no active front splitter. There are ducts (passive), front and rear, directing airflow around the wheels.

Alright, so I don't suck at searching because I can't find anything about an active front splitter. I have been reading that they'll implement a fixed wing and a front splitter on the LC-F though.
