I'm new to the forum. I owned a warehouse where the lawyers kept cars where people died in car accidents. They brought in a Maserati that had wheel spacers. The wheel fell of at high speed and the driver did not survive. I'm not sure if it is aesthetics or performance you are interested in but I would proceed with caution if at all.
Yes, it is definitely possible for people to install them incorrectly. But when done correctly, wheels don't fall off. Even many race cars use them and they experience stresses and forces MUCH greater than that of ordinary passenger cars.
